Sandale de Thomas Sankara

This pattern was given the name ‘Thomas Sankara’ after the murder of President Thomas Sankara in Upper Volta, the present Burkina Faso. In Benin the pattern stands for success, and more specifically for the emancipation of women.

Also known as: Patapouf, Afokpa (slippers), Samaro Koro (Benin)
