    I would title it republic because Nigeria became a republic in 1963.Nigeria is the giant of Africa and globally recognized by the world as a key player in African growth and development.Africa is at the center of the globe with Nigeria occupying a significant post.

    Actually this fabric celebrates the [official] declaration of Nigerian independence from British colonial rule with the birth of the First Republic of Nigeria in 1963. The location outlined on the map is Nigeria (although I wish it did have something to do with Ghana as I am Ghanaian). @Vlisco: Do you have any fabrics commemorating Ghana's 1957 independence?

    If I'm right, Ghana was the host of the African Cup of nation and did eventually won. The globe as the shape of a football. the year plus the location on the map of Africa.
