    I asked a wax print dealer who inherited her cloth trading business from her mother. She explained that in Ghana, this fabric was named after a proverb. In theTwi language the proverb is 'Aware nti se nkatie, na wo abo awhe.' The literal translation is..'Getting married is not like popping peanuts. Once you are in it, you stay with it.'
